Mary Hoffman
Mary Hoffman (born 1945) is a prolific British author and critic known for over 90 books spanning children's picture books, teen fiction, and historical novels. Her notable works include the bestselling children's book *Amazing Grace*, a *New York Times* bestseller with 1.5 million copies sold, and the teen fantasy series *Stravaganza*. She studied English at Newnham College, Cambridge, and linguistics at University College London, publishing her first book *White Magic* in 1975.
