Mary Ann Shaffer

Mary Ann Shaffer (née Fiery) was an American writer, editor, librarian, and bookshop worker born in Martinsburg, West Virginia. She is best known for her posthumously published novel *The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society*, co-written with her niece Annie Barrows. Shaffer passed away in 2008 shortly before the book's publication, fulfilling her lifelong dream of writing a publishable book.[1][2]
