Mary Ann Hoberman
Mary Ann Hoberman (1930–2023) was an American children's author and poet who wrote over 40 books, including the National Book Award-winning 'A House is a House for Me.' Named Children's Poet Laureate by the Poetry Foundation in 2008, she was celebrated for her ability to engage children with rhythm, rhyme, and wordplay while advocating for the importance of poetry in American education.
