Martin Heidegger

Martin Heidegger was a German philosopher whose work was central to phenomenology, hermeneutics, and existentialism. His best-known book, "Being and Time" (1927), reoriented 20th-century continental philosophy through its analysis of human existence, or Dasein. His reputation was later deeply affected by revelations about his association with Nazism.
