Martha Stewart is an American retail businesswoman, writer, and television personality who rose to prominence as the author of books on cooking, entertaining, and decorating.[1][2] She founded Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, expanding her brand through publishing, broadcasting, merchandising, and e-commerce to become America's first woman billionaire.[4] After resigning as CEO in 2002 following insider trading charges, she served five months in prison but subsequently rebuilt her media empire.[3]
