Markus V. Hoehne
Markus Virgil Hoehne is a German social anthropologist specializing in conflict, conflict settlement, identity, and Somali studies in the Horn of Africa, particularly northern Somalia (Somaliland and Puntland), political Islam, and transitional justice. He studied Social Anthropology, History, Turkology, and International Law at LMU Munich, and has held positions including post-doc at the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology and lecturer at the Universities of Leipzig and Goettingen. His notable publications include 'Somalia zwischen Krieg und Frieden' (2002), 'Borders and Borderlands as Resources in the Horn of Africa' (2010), and 'Between Somaliland and Puntland' (2015).
