Marjory Stoneman Douglas
Marjory Stoneman Douglas was an American journalist, writer, and environmentalist. She is best known for her book 'The Everglades: River of Grass' which brought national attention to the Florida Everglades and was instrumental in the creation of Everglades National Park. She continued her conservation activism well into her later years and was a pioneering figure in the modern environmental movement.
