Marion Zimmer Bradley

Marion Zimmer Bradley (1930–1999) was an acclaimed American author of fantasy, science fiction, and historical fantasy, best known for her bestselling Arthurian novel *The Mists of Avalon* (1982) and the long-running *Darkover* series. Noted for her feminist perspectives in sword-and-sorcery tales, she co-founded the Society for Creative Anachronism, edited the *Sword and Sorceress* anthology series, and posthumously received the World Fantasy Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2000.
