Marie-Claire Bancquart

Marie-Claire Bancquart (1932–2019) was a renowned French poet, essayist, literary critic, and professor emerita of French literature at the Université Paris-Sorbonne. Her visceral poetry often explores the interior of the human body to examine emotion and humanity, and she received the Grand prix de la Critique littéraire from the Académie Française among numerous other awards.
