Marge Piercy
Marge Piercy (born March 31, 1936) is an acclaimed American poet, novelist, feminist, and social activist from Detroit, Michigan, known for her progressive works blending Marxism, feminism, and environmentalism. A first-generation college student, she earned degrees from the University of Michigan and Northwestern University, and became deeply involved in 1960s movements like SDS, civil rights, and anti-war efforts. Her notable books include the speculative feminist classic *Woman on the Edge of Time*, the Arthur C. Clarke Award-winning *He, She and It*, and the New York Times bestseller *Gone to Soldiers*, alongside over 17 poetry collections and numerous essays.
