Margaret Wise Brown
Margaret Wise Brown (1910–1952) was a prolific American writer of children's literature, best known for classics like Goodnight Moon (1947) and The Runaway Bunny (1942), authoring over 100 innovative picture books.[1][2] She studied at the progressive Bank Street School, pioneered 'here-and-now' storytelling with lyrical rhymes, and worked as an editor at W.R. Scott, Inc., bridging education, publishing, and experimental arts.[3][6] Brown lived adventurously and died suddenly at age 42 from an embolism in Nice, France.[4][5]
