Margaret Powell
Margaret Powell was a British author and former domestic servant whose memoirs about life in service became bestsellers. Her most famous work, 'Below Stairs' (1968), detailed her experiences as a kitchen maid and cook, and inspired the television series 'Upstairs, Downstairs'. She went on to write several sequels and novels before her death in 1984.
