Margaret Mead
Margaret Mead was an American cultural anthropologist renowned for her studies of the peoples of the Pacific Islands and her influential works such as 'Coming of Age in Samoa' and 'Sex and Temperament in Three Primitive Societies'. Her research and prolific writing helped popularize anthropology in the mid-20th century, and she also served as a prominent public intellectual. She was a professor at Columbia University and a curator at the American Museum of Natural History for much of her career.
