Margaret Agnes Paull

Margaret Agnes Paul (née Colvile, 1829–1905) was a Scottish novelist and author of a dozen anonymously published romances in the 19th century. Born into a prominent family as one of sixteen children of Andrew Colvile, governor of the Hudson's Bay Company, and Mary Louisa Eden, she married Charles Kegan Paul and wrote works such as 'Gentle and Simple' and 'Thomasina: A Biography'. Her novels often explored themes of revolution and personal trials, including children's stories like 'Tim's Troubles'.
