Manes Sperber

Manès Sperber (1905–1984) was a Polish-born French author, psychologist, and philosopher known for his works critiquing Stalinism and exploring the impacts of totalitarianism. Born in Zabłotów, Eastern Galicia, he studied psychology in Vienna, worked as Alfred Adler's assistant, taught in Berlin, and fled Nazi persecution to settle in Paris in 1934, where he directed Calmann-Lévy publishers and wrote major novels like the 'Like a Tear in the Ocean' trilogy.
