Mac Barnett
Mac Barnett is a New York Times-bestselling American children's book author known for over 70 works including picture books like Extra Yarn and Sam and Dave Dig a Hole, both Caldecott Honor books, as well as the Mac B., Kid Spy series and the Shapes Trilogy. He graduated from Pomona College, studying under David Foster Wallace, lives in Oakland, California, and co-created the Emmy-winning Apple TV+ series Shape Island with Jon Klassen. Currently serving as the U.S. National Ambassador for Young People's Literature (2025-2026), he advocates for the power of picture books.
