M. (Mandell) 1843-1901 Creighton

Mandell Creighton (1843–1901) was a British historian, Anglican priest, and bishop known for helping establish history as an independent academic discipline in England. He studied at Oxford, became the first occupant of the Dixie Chair of Ecclesiastical History at Cambridge, and was a founding editor of The English Historical Review.
