M. J. York is the pen name of British actor Michael York (born Michael Hugh Johnson), renowned for his breakthrough roles as Tybalt in Franco Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet (1968) and Brian Roberts in Cabaret (1972). He began his career with the National Youth Theatre and Oxford University Dramatic Society, later joining Laurence Olivier's National Theatre, and starred in numerous films including The Three Musketeers (1973) and the Austin Powers series. York has also appeared extensively on stage, television, and in recent independent films like The Omega Code.
