Lynn Painter is a New York Times bestselling American author of contemporary romantic comedies for young adults and adults, best known for her 2021 debut novel Better Than the Movies, which gained popularity on BookTok.[1][2] She resides in Omaha, Nebraska, with her husband and children, and contributes regularly to the Omaha World-Herald's parenting section.[2][3] Her works, including Mr. Wrong Number and The Do-Over, resemble romantic comedy films, with her 2025 novel Fake Skating set for a Sony Pictures film adaptation.[1]
