Lyev Polugayevsky

Lyev Polugayevsky (also known as Lev Polugaevsky) was a Soviet Grandmaster in chess, renowned for his contributions as an opening theorist and author of influential chess books. He was a multiple-time candidate for the World Chess Championship and won several Soviet Championships and Olympiads during his career from the 1960s to the 1980s.
