Luke Epplin
Luke Epplin is an American sportswriter and author born in Rockford, Illinois, and raised in rural Litchfield, who has contributed to publications such as The Atlantic, The New Yorker, Salon, and The Daily Beast. He is the author of Our Team: The Epic Story of Four Men and the World Series That Changed Baseball, focusing on the 1948 Cleveland Indians, and Moses and the Doctor: Two Men, One Championship, and the Birth of Modern Basketball, about Julius Erving, Moses Malone, and the 1983 Philadelphia 76ers. Epplin lives in Astoria, Queens, New York City, with his wife Jane Healy, whom he married in 2023, and their daughter Ava, born in 2024.
