Lockman

John Lockman (1698–1771) was an English writer born in humble circumstances who became a self-taught scholar, learning French at Slaughter's Coffee House. He authored numerous works including a 'History of Christianity' and question-and-answer histories of England, Greece, and Rome that saw multiple editions.[1]
