A graduate of Louisiana Tech University (summa cum laude), she is a former English and social studies teacher who now writes novels and screenplays while managing accounts payable for a dental practice in Shreveport, Louisiana. She lives in North Louisiana with her high school sweetheart, two sons, and several pets.
