Linda Stone

Linda Stone (born 1955) is a writer and pioneer of Internet-focused sociology research who coined the phrases "continuous partial attention" in 1998 and "email apnea" in 2008[1]. She spent nearly 20 years as a senior executive in the high-tech industry at Apple and Microsoft, where she founded the Virtual Worlds Group at Microsoft Research and pioneered social interaction on the Internet[3][4]. Stone currently blogs, writes, consults, and advises companies while serving on the Advisory Council for the MIT Media Lab and the TED BrainTrust[5][7].
