Lillamie Books

Laila Lalami is a Moroccan-American author born in Rabat, Morocco, who moved to the United States in 1992 and earned a PhD in linguistics from the University of Southern California. She began publishing fiction and nonfiction in English in 1996, with her debut novel in 2005, and gained acclaim as a 2015 Pulitzer Prize finalist for *The Moor's Account*. Her most recent novel, *The Dream Hotel* (2025), is a dystopian sci-fi work exploring a surveillance state that monitors citizens' dreams.
