Lewis L Gould

Lewis L. Gould is an American historian and author specializing in 20th-century U.S. political history, the Republican Party, and presidential administrations since 1896. He is especially known as a pioneer in the scholarly study of presidential spouses and first ladies, and taught for many years at the University of Texas at Austin, where he is now professor emeritus.
