Lewis Jones

Lewis Jones (1897–1939) was a Welsh author, coal miner, and Communist political activist known for his two novels, Cwmardy and We Live, which vividly portray working-class life and labor struggles in South Wales' coalfields. He played a prominent role in the 1926 General Strike and led hunger marches for unemployed workers before dying shortly after completing his second novel while campaigning for the Spanish Republic.
