Lewis Baltz
Lewis 'Duke' Baltz was an American visual artist, photographer, and educator born in Newport Beach, California. He was a key figure in the New Topographics movement of the late 1970s, best known for his monochrome photography of suburban landscapes and industrial parks that critiqued the American Dream. His minimalist compositions highlighted the void and desolation within contemporary American architecture and urban sprawl.
