Leslie Robin Lewis

Dr. Leslie Robin Lewis, also known as Leslie Arthur Lewis, was a Professor Emeritus at York College, CUNY, specializing in mechanistic studies of transposition within the IS3 family of insertion sequences, exploring novel DNA/protein interactions in transposable elements. Born and raised on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia, he was named after his uncle, Nobel Prize-winning economist Sir Arthur Lewis. He was celebrated posthumously for his life and legacy by York College.
