Leo Lionni
Leo Lionni was a Dutch-American writer and illustrator renowned for creating over 40 children's books, many of which are short fables teaching life lessons. Born in Amsterdam in 1910, he moved to Italy and later the United States, where he worked as an art director before returning to Italy in 1962 to pursue children's book writing full-time. His innovative use of collage illustrations and themes of friendship and identity, exemplified in works like 'Frederick' and 'Little Blue and Little Yellow,' earned him multiple Caldecott Honors and enduring recognition worldwide.
