Lee Kuan Yew
Lee Kuan Yew was a Singaporean statesman and barrister who served as the first prime minister of Singapore from 1959 to 1990, leading the country to independence and transforming it into a highly developed economic powerhouse.[1][2] Born to a Peranakan Chinese family during British colonial rule, he studied law at Cambridge University and co-founded the People's Action Party in 1954.[1][4] Widely regarded as the founding father of modern Singapore, his authoritarian leadership emphasized economic development, education, and social cohesion.[2][3]
