Lawrence Sanders
Lawrence Sanders was an American novelist born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1920, who worked in journalism and various fields including the U.S. Marine Corps before publishing his debut thriller, The Anderson Tapes, in 1970 at age 50, which won the Edgar Award for Best First Novel. He authored over 38 suspense and mystery novels, including popular series like Edward X. Delaney and Archy McNally, blending crime stories with high-tech elements, moral complexity, and sensuality, selling more than 58 million copies. Sanders died in 1998 in Pompano Beach, Florida.
