Lawrence Aje
Lawrence Aje is an Associate Professor of American History at the University of Montpellier Paul Valéry, France, specializing in African American history.[1][2] His doctoral research examined free people of color in 19th-century Charleston, South Carolina, and his current work explores the intersections of law, race, group identity, and the migration of free people of color in the United States and the Atlantic World.[1]
