Laurence Sterne

Laurence Sterne (1713–1768) was an Anglo-Irish novelist and Anglican cleric best known for the comic novel "The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman" and the travel narrative "A Sentimental Journey Through France and Italy." His work is celebrated for its playful humor, digressive style, and innovative narrative techniques that influenced later fiction.
