Laura Lippman
Laura Lippman is an acclaimed American author of detective fiction, best known for her series featuring private investigator Tess Monaghan, a former reporter like herself. A former journalist who worked 20 years in newspapers including 12 at The Baltimore Sun, she published her debut novel Baltimore Blues in 1997 while still reporting full-time and left journalism after seven Tess books. Her works have won numerous awards including the Edgar, Anthony, Agatha, Shamus, Nero Wolfe, and Barry, establishing her as one of the essential crime writers of the last century.
