Laura Ingalls Wilder

Laura Ingalls Wilder (1867-1957) was an American writer, teacher, and journalist best known for her children's book series Little House on the Prairie, published between 1932 and 1943. Based on her childhood experiences in a pioneer family on the American frontier, her eight-volume series became an enduring record of pioneering life in the late 19th century and made her a national celebrity.
