Laura Hillenbrand

Laura Hillenbrand is an American author best known for her bestselling nonfiction books Seabiscuit: An American Legend (2001), about a champion racehorse during the Great Depression, and Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption (2010), a biography of Olympian and POW Louis Zamperini; both were adapted into films and have sold over 13 million copies combined.[1][2] She has lived with myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) since age 19, which has significantly impacted her life and writing process.[2][5] Hillenbrand resides in Oregon and co-founded Operation International Children with actor Gary Sinise.[4]
