Larry Verstraete

Larry Verstraete is a Canadian writer and former science teacher born on April 18, 1948, in St. Boniface (now part of Winnipeg), Manitoba, the second oldest of six children.[1][2][4] He has authored 13 to 15 award-winning non-fiction books, primarily for children, focusing on scientific and historical themes, as well as 2 middle-grade novels, and has always lived in Winnipeg.[3][4][6] Influenced by authors like Erik Larson and Jon Krakauer, he combines his teaching background with a passion for storytelling to engage young readers in science.[1][5]
