Lama Anagarika Govinda
Lama Anagarika Govinda (born Ernst Lothar Hoffmann) was a German Buddhist scholar, painter, poet, and the founder of the Arya Maitreya Mandala order, renowned for introducing Tibetan Buddhism to the West. He devoted his life to making Eastern wisdom accessible to Western audiences, teaching Buddhist meditation, Abhidharma, and philosophy while traveling through Ceylon, India, and Tibet to deepen his practice.
