L. C. Jain
Lakshmi Chand Jain (1925-2010) was a prominent Indian Gandhian organizer, economist, and civil servant who played a key role in refugee resettlement after the Partition, opened India's first supermarket, and championed decentralized planning and rural self-governance as a member of the Planning Commission. He also served as India's High Commissioner to South Africa, promoting South-South cooperation, and received the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 1989 for his contributions to community development.
