Kokumo Rocks

Kokumo Rocks is a Scottish performance poet raised in the Fife village of Cowdenbeath as the only black family in the area. Diagnosed with dyslexia in the mid-1990s, she became a prominent African/Asian/Scottish writer, performing across the UK, USA, India, and Africa, with collections including Bad Ass Raindrop (2002), Stolen From Africa (2007), and Happily Drowning (2018). Her poetry explores themes of love, race, freedom, imprisonment, infused with humour, passion, and wisdom.
