Knud Merrild

Knud Merrild Nielsen (1894–1954) was a Danish-born painter, sculptor, and ceramicist who later worked in the United States, where he became associated with modernist, abstract, and surrealist tendencies. He is also credited in some sources with pioneering flux painting and early assemblage practices in California.
