Khara L. Pence Turnbull
Khara L. Pence Turnbull is an Assistant Professor of Education and Research Faculty at the University of Virginia, specializing in children's language development trajectories, including semantics, syntax, and pragmatics, to understand cognitive underpinnings of early school readiness. She conducts research on classroom discourse as a mechanism for supporting student outcomes and explores the role of family sleep routines in school readiness. Turnbull is also the author of 'Language Development From Theory to Practice' (3rd Edition) and other works in early literacy and education.
