Kelly Lange
Kelly Lange, born December 4, 1937, in New York City, became the first female nightly news anchor in Los Angeles at KNBC-TV, earning multiple Emmy Awards and hosting shows like the Rose Parade and The Kelly Lange Show. After retiring from broadcasting in 1998, she transitioned to writing bestselling mystery novels featuring strong female protagonists, such as the Maxi Poole series starting with The Reporter. She was briefly married to director William Friedkin from 1987 to 1990.
