Katherine Mansfield

Katherine Mansfield (born Kathleen Mansfield Beauchamp) was a New Zealand-born modernist writer renowned for her innovative short stories that explored psychological conflicts, relationships, and social nuances with poetic subtlety influenced by Anton Chekhov.[1][2] She published key collections including *In a German Pension* (1911), *Bliss and Other Stories* (1920), and *The Garden Party and Other Stories* (1922), establishing her as a pioneer of the short story form.[3][5] Diagnosed with tuberculosis in 1917, she died prematurely at age 34 in France.[1][2]
