Kate Douglas Smith Wiggin
Kate Douglas Smith Wiggin (1856–1923) was an American educator, children’s author, and kindergarten pioneer. She founded the first free kindergarten in San Francisco and later became known for beloved books such as Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm and The Birds’ Christmas Carol.
