Karl N. Llewellyn

Karl N. Llewellyn (1893–1962) was a prominent American legal scholar and a leading proponent of legal realism, known for his critical analysis of the theory that law operates solely as a system of objective rules. He played a major role in the development of the Uniform Commercial Code and was a distinguished professor at Columbia Law School and the University of Chicago Law School. His influential works, including 'The Bramble Bush' and 'The Theory of Rules,' reshaped American legal thought.
