Kari Levitt

Kari Polanyi Levitt is an Austrian-born Canadian economist and Emerita Professor of Economics at McGill University, renowned for her work on economic development and economic sovereignty, particularly her 1970 book 'Silent Surrender: The Multinational Corporation in Canada'. Born in Vienna in 1923 as the daughter of the famed economic historian Karl Polanyi, she is also a noted editor of her father's works and an icon of independent Caribbean thought.
