Karen Leigh Davis

Karen Davis was an American writer and animal rights advocate best known as the founder and president of United Poultry Concerns, a nonprofit focused on the humane treatment of chickens, turkeys, and ducks in factory farming. She wrote several books on veganism and animal rights, including *Prisoned Chickens, Poisoned Eggs* and *The Holocaust and the Henmaid's Tale*.
