Kamala Harris
Kamala Devi Harris is an American politician who served as the 49th Vice President of the United States from 2021 to 2025, becoming the first woman, first Black American, and first Asian American to hold the office. Born in Oakland, California, to an Indian mother and Jamaican father, she worked as a prosecutor, district attorney of San Francisco (2004–2011), attorney general of California (2011–2017), and U.S. Senator from California (2017–2021) before her vice presidency; she ran as the Democratic presidential nominee in 2024 but was defeated by Donald Trump.[1][4][6]
